Durham global Mala Festival September 19, 2010

The Durham Global Mala Yoga Festival is part of a much larger event, with more then 3,000 participating cites.

The purpose of the Global Mala is to unite the global yoga community from every continent to form a " mala around the earth " through collective practices, as the yoga world's offering to further the UN International Peace Day. Each center offers their form of a Yoga Mala according to their yoga tradition and inspiration: http://www.globalmala.org/about.php.

The Durham Global Mala Yoga Festival is a collaborative event organized solely by the participating studios, we hope that by hosting this day we will bring awareness of yoga?s place in a world yearning for peace and we wish to support local charities, especially those that serve or feed our youth.

This is a non-profit event all proceeds will be divided amongst the local charities we have chosen this year.

This annual event is a day of great yoga, followed by a Kirtan (yoga sing along).
